Yep! We rocked, we rolled, we dressed for success! From the BOO-BEE’S to the “lions and Tigers and Bears OH MY!” we had quite the spook-tacular time! Check out how the moms in madison get ready for frightfest!

We hunted, we picked, we carved and scraped (not to mention the yumminess that is a roasted pumpkin seed!) and here are the fruits of our labor!

The ladies and i met up at the park down the street and played for hours… well the babies played, romped, slid and snacked while we all got caught up. This is Noah and his friend Brin playing on the slide. You can take a look at some more of our play time in the park if you click here.

Zoo Run Run!

Posted in Baby E on October 22nd, 2007 by Jennifer – Be the first to comment

We went to the zoo on Sunday for what was probably the most perfect day of the year! The weather was just right at 75 with a breeze and sunshine. It was one of those days i looked up at Jaythan and was reminded why we were still living in wisconsin (that, and the fact that my hubby’s about to turn the design community on its’ tushie with the new Microsoft position here in the mad-town) But i digress, the zoo was wonderful! Noah had a great time riding around on papa while I pushed the stroller around to the different animals! He went crazy for the aviary. The birds swooped and called pa210061.jpg It was fantastic! GOOD TIMES :)

Posted in Jennifer on October 22nd, 2007 by Jennifer – Be the first to comment

This weekend was one of quiet reflection, lazy days, and easy going family memories-!! at least that’s what it would have been if we hadn’t had a million things on the to-do list and a tight 48 hour window to do them:) not to mention the fact that our little man wasn’t feeling well and for the first time had a fever up into the 104′s! After a couple of calls to the pediatrician and one harried trip to Urgent Care, we tried to relax the day away in our pj’s and enjoy what I can only assume will be one of the last beautifully warm, wonderfully windy, perfect weekends! before we start getting our snow boots on and gearing up for the ski season!

Hope you all had just as much fun!

The Hunt for the Perfect Pumpkin!

Posted in Jennifer on October 13th, 2007 by Jennifer – Be the first to comment

We did our annual stint to the Treinen Farms pumpkin patch to pick our perfects this year! The weather was just right as we trolled the patch with hundreds of our closest midwestern friends! We had a picnic lunch, rode the horse drawn carriage, saw more animals than we could count and played in the largest vat of corn I’ve ever seen! It was quite a day! (Check out our pics)

ahhhh, the park

The ladies and i met up at Orton Park the other day. It was a cold one and the first time we’ve had to bundle the babies in awhile! We ended up raiding the local coffee shop after about an hour of freezing our tushies off! They never saw us coming! :)

Jellyfish has been aquired by Microsoft!

Posted in Jaythan on October 11th, 2007 by jaythan – Be the first to comment

No I didn’t make that title up. Jellyfish, the internet company I helped start nearly 2 years ago, has been bought by Microsoft. Its been an incredible journey. I feel honored to have worked with such an amazing team, many of which have become honorary Elamites!

Straight from the mothership:

Jellyfish has done some really innovative work in comparative shopping engines. We think the technology has some interesting potential applications as we continue to invest heavily in shopping and commerce as a key component of Live Search. Stay tuned for more great stuff from our new colleagues in Madison!

Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. Jen and I just want to be a happy little family, but other than that we’re just thrilled to part of such an incredible event.

I believe my fellow collegue said it best in his blog post, “I think my favorite part so far is that I no longer have to respond with “just fine thanks, and how are things going where you work?” when asked about my job.”
Well said Nick, well said.

BABY E TURNS ONE!!

Posted in Baby E on October 10th, 2007 by Jennifer – Be the first to comment

Yes! We just celebrated Noah’s VERY FIRST BIRTHDAY! Jaythan and i decided to dedicate a time capsule to him to be opened on his 21st birthday and asked many of you to help contribute to that cause! We’ve just about finished getting everything together and have been overcome by the notes, letters, pictures, and mementos that you have sent! We’ve also included some of his very first pictures (his ultrasound photos) as well as a map of his DNA, pictures from this birthday, and some small tokens and keepsakes! Thank you to our family and friends that made this so special for us!

PLEASE check out all of his birthday pictures on our flikr site! (click on birthday :)

My goodness it’s been too long! Things here at the Elam household have been moving right along! (Those extra naps Noah got into for awhile are now few and far between making mommy’s “blog time” nil) but alas! we just finished celebrating his 1st birthday so I’m taking advantage of him sleeping off all of that excitement to write! So hang on tight! I’ve lots to fill you all in on!

FYI! I’m going to be posting some “links” off of this site. The linked word will be highlighted in a different color and underlined. (like this) If you click your mouse on that highlighted word, it will take you to a new page (usually more pictures) so make sure you check it out!

It’s good to be back!
