GC at the Dells

Posted in Baby E on December 30th, 2006 by Queen – 2 Comments

Great Christmas, Gift certificate christmas, cold christmas!! Yep we had it all! The Davenport-Elam clan met up in madison and then headed for the wisconsin dells to try our luck with the water slides, wave pools, and park security (as dogs were not allowed and emily had to be sumggled). We went to a dinner theater production of a christmas story and screamed down a tolet bowl-like water slide, we bonded holding on for dear life in the wave pool, we laughed, we sassed, we prayed, it was a fantastic holiday. Check out the rest of our christmas memories!

I don’t have enough time, and don’t think i ever will, to truly do justice to this past holiday. it was fantastic, it was crazy, it was wonderful to be with our family. Jaythan is going to upload the rest of our pictures into an account so that all of you can share in these memories but here’s a glimpse of our blooming little boy. He has expanded his faces and vocabulary after a week with the davenport’s and we were only able to captured half of them!!

Mom, Dad, Jason, Emily, we love you! We are so blessed to have you in our lives.

3 month check up

So, we had another check up today and passed with flying colors. Noah, the heavy weight champ, weighed in at 14.7 lbs and 24.25 inches long. (that’s a 72% gain from his birth weight) We mastered the lotus in yoga and are going to take a hiatus on bathing for a little while but other than that, he’s a happy, healthy, growing little man and we couldn’t feel more blessed.

one year

jaythan and i celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday. We reminisced over the bachelor party (a little scary) and the bachelorette party (!!), we reread all of the “words of wisdom” you all left for us and laughed at the absurdity of suggestions like “A good marriage stays together if you call Amber every week” or “hummers and hot tea will make it last!”

Our marriage day itself was pretty crazy. At the end of it all, we snuck out of the hotel and walked down the street eating ice cream and talking about what the future held for us. God i miss Chattanooga. I woke up that morning, sat outside watching the sun come up over the city, then jaythan and i watched it set that night.

Today actually marks the anniversary of our honeymoon, which cannot be discounted as it was the best time I’ve ever had!! It was so incredibly perfect. It just worked!! Now i know that God gave us that respite in order to get through the sleepless, overworked, craze that our lives have become. We wouldn’t trade it, but it was nice to reminisce.

emily saves us all

Yep, folks it’s official, noah is a giggler!!! It happened the other night and apparently will only happen when emily does her little dance, but noah laughed at her and let me tell you, there is nothing in-this world sweeter than his little giggle.

Well, we celebrated another big birthday for jaythan yesterday. It was pretty quiet compared to the normal hoopla that we do, but so nice. Noah was great, unusually adaptable and allowed Jaythan and I almost a whole dinner without any mishaps. NE ways, thanks for everybody that called to wish him well. We love you guys!

Alternative Viewing

Posted in Jaythan on December 5th, 2006 by jaythan – Be the first to comment

I am pleased to announce my personnal portfolio site has finally been coded and is up for viewing. Its been a long time com’n so if your looking for something a little different, or to just waste some time while you’re at work, then head on over to www.jaythanelam.com for some pretty pictures and a sense of accomplishment.
*I should mention that, not only is the design by me but the actual code is as well, so if you are having trouble getting the site to work properly then you should just know that its supposed to that and its “wrongness” actually is a demonstration towards the injustices of man.
**I don’t know about you but that sounded kind of good. Cheers!

play on playa

Yep, we had our first play date on Saturday. It was so fun. I mean there was something so nice about being with people who understood our new founded interest in poo, spit up, and the varieties of going out with a newborn. Alicia and Janko’s son oliver is almost the exact age Noah is, so it was fun to compare stories and life changing milestones. Oliver was so talkative and fell right to sleep on his play mat. I immediately got home and tried to see if i could get Noah to fall asleep while playing, it was a no-go. he’s more of a “pick me up and make us really work for it” kind of guy. There’s a scene in The wedding crashers movie where vince vaugne is making balloon animals for the kids and one kid says “make me a bicycle clown”. Noah’s sentiments run along those same lines.

I can’t complain. I’ve always admired a man who knows what he wants!! but after seeing sweet little oliver, i’m not giving up. So, we had pizza talked with adults and had a laid back day. It was so funny to see the two babies side by side. I’ll post pics as I get them!
