Happy turkey Day

Posted in Baby E on November 26th, 2006 by Queen – Be the first to comment

jaythan, noah and I spent the thanksgiving holiday with a couple of friends here in Madison. it was a fantastic day.  Nick is a computer genius who works at Jellyfish and Amy dabbles in photography and graphic design.  She took shots all day of our little feast and  posted some of her pics on flicker. here’s a link if you want to check them out.

She caught Noah in a light that only someone with an eye for the camera can do. I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for!

blessed be.

hello world! (again)

ok guys. Jaythan and I have been working hard at keeping up with this blog and writing about how things are going, pretty much centering most of our thoughts around our new fantastic little family.

I love that we have gotten so much positive feedback about Noah and what he’s been up too, but had no idea so many people were checking out the blog! so please when you get a minute, post a comment. It doesn’t have to be about us or noah or even what the post is about but whatever it is you’re up to… we’d love to hear it. We started this because we were so far away from all of you and didn’t want our family or Noah to miss out on his progress. We also want to know what’s going on with you guys and this is an easy portal to communicate with the whole family.

(speaking of progress) I haven’t gotten it on camera yet but he has a new angry face that is just adorable! and it’s these kind of milestones that we want to share!! So keep in touch.

We love you guys.

I don’t have a whole lot of time but when I find it, I’ll write all about the fun filled weekend we had with my in-laws (complete with nascar driving moves, flat tire blow outs and good old fashioned bonding) so stay tuned!

As a stand in, until my sister in-law sends me some of the pics from this wekend, here’s Noah being swallowed in his bear suit. I love it!!

2 months and still counting

Just wanted to post and say the check up, overall, went well. Noah weighed in at 11 lbs 10oz! and 23 inches long! The shots were tough. Traumatizing on both ends. He’s been sleeping since and its going to take us a little while to recover. Talk to you guys in a couple of days.

keeping up

Posted in Baby E on November 12th, 2006 by Queen – 2 Comments

Sorry guys, Life is hard to keep up with sometimes and while we’re still taking all kinds of snap shots of Noah and his daily achievements, I have a hard time finding a moment to post them and share!

We’ve had a great week!! Noah took his first bottle, he’s smiling at both Jaythan and I constantly, he’s reaching and just strting to grasp objects,

Our week coming up is just as exciting. We start our mom and baby yoga class! And have our 2 month check up!! So send us good thoughts!

the stem cell debate

Posted in Jennifer on November 4th, 2006 by Queen – Be the first to comment

I know most of you checking out this blog have some idea of my stance and utmost support of stem cell research, its abilities and implications. Madison is a leader in this emerging field and i have felt lucky to have been in contact with the advancements happening all around us. The political debate has really taken on this issue and with the up and coming elections i thought it important to write. I recently heard James Thomson speak about his personal vestment in the stem cell realm and when asked what he felt about the political aspect of the debate he remain obtrusively aloft. I do not share his tact. I realize that the media has taken this issue and splashed its good but mostly bad side. You will, of course, make your own opinions and assumptions but please! do your own research about the good and the bad before you vote one way or the other. i feel that this research has the capability to change the entire medical field. I feel that given the opportunity to continue, diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s will become bywords of the past. The following link is a reputable source to truly learn about these cells.
